Organic Chemistry 161
This course is designed to give students the unique opportunity to delve into organic chemistry. The experience will support those who are interested in pursuing a career in areas related to biochemistry, chemical engineering and food sciences, for example. Students will become familiar with the naming and structure of organic compounds. Experience with basic reactions of organic chemistry will be gained through laboratory work, group investigations, and class discussions.
This course is a single semester course and will earn 0.5 lab science elective credits. All subject and academic GPA.
Prerequisite: a first-year chemistry course
